Kuujjuaq Bookmaking Workshop for Childcare Educators
Within the framework of the Esuma initiative esuma.ca, a bookmaking workshop was held in Kuujjuaq last December with the Iqitauvik childcare centre team.
Eight educators and the Iqitauvik centre director participated in the creation of Inuit children story books.
The author, Michael Kusugak, and the illustrator, Vladyana Krykorka, successfully organised and gave the 3 day workshop.

12 Educators from Iqitauvik Childcare Centre in Kuujjuaq Graduated from St-Felicien’s College
‘Saturday May 31st, 12 educators from Iqitauvik childcare centre in Kuujjuaq graduated from St-Felicien’s college’s Early Childhood Educator (ECE) in house program. This is one of the highest graduation rates we have ever had. We attribute this success to the new in house program that allows educators to follow the ECE training while working at the childcare centre.’

Natturaq - New 65 place facility in Inukjuak
Natturaq is the new 65 place facility in Inukjuak. The opening ceremony was celebrated on Friday the 6th of June with great success. This was a beautiful way of ending the Regional Nunavik Childcare week.
Elisapi Weetaluktut, the eldest educator at Tasiurvik is cutting the traditional ribbon with Lydia Suasi Kasudluak, the oldest child of Tasiurvik. Dora Inukpuk (in yellow) and Nunga Kutchaka both educators are holding the ribbon.
On the second row are Asinajaq Qinuajuaq, centre director of Tasiurvik Childcare centre and Nellie Palliser, her assistant who works at Natturaq’s facility.
On the third row: Minnie Pallisser, president of the board of directors (BOD) and Kimberly Moorhouse, secretary of the BOD with her two children Edua and Johnny.
